Mohamad has been abstinent from alcohol for 2 years and has been trying to find accommodation for the past 15 months. This has proven impossible without a deposit.
Mohamad has been rough sleeping around Oxfordshire, with no local connection, he has been denied access to support services. Although he has been abstinent from alcohol for over 2 years and clean from drugs for 6 months, Mohamad has been unable to secure long term employment or sustainable housing; each requiring the other as a starting point.
"[We would prefer] for Mohamad to stay close to Oxford, so that he can stay close to the support networks that are positive for his recovery" - Nikki Aitchison (Support Worker)
It is incredibly difficult for him to stay clean while rough sleeping. He has few tangible prospects and is unable to pursue his ambitions and hobbies; it has been a long time since he has kicked a football or put on a boxing glove. In spite of this, he has fought hard to get to where he is today and is keeping on the straight and narrow.
Mohamad is a skilled carpet fitter by trade and would love to get back into his profession, once he secures sustainable accommodation.
With your support, Mohamad will finally leave behind homelessness for good, allowing him to take on the job he loves and pursue his passions in sports.
